Chasing payments is one of the least fun parts of running a driving school. A student owes for two lessons, a parent says they’ll pay next time, a check sits in a glovebox. Taking payments online, before the lesson, fixes most of it. Drivloop lets students pay by card when they book, keeps track of who owes what, and still handles cash and checks.
Money goes straight to your bank
In Drivloop you press “Connect Stripe” and fill in your business and bank details on Stripe’s secure page. After that, student card payments go directly into your own Stripe account and on to your bank. Drivloop never holds your money and takes no cut of lesson payments. Stripe charges its normal card fee. Card details are handled by Stripe and never stored by Drivloop.
Students pay for packages when they book
You set up your lesson packages, for example a single lesson, a 5-lesson pack or a 10-lesson pack, each with its own price. When a student books on your booking page, they buy a package by card first. Each lesson they book is then taken from the package, so you and the student always know how many lessons are left.
If you’d rather not require payment up front, you can allow students to book now and pay later. Their balance shows as due until it’s paid.
Cash and checks still work
Not every family wants to pay by card. When a student hands an instructor cash or a check, mark it paid in one tap and choose how they paid: cash, check, card or other. Every payment, online or not, lives in the same list.
See who owes what
The payments screen shows what each student has paid and what is still due. Send a friendly reminder to one student with one tap, or to everyone with a balance at once. The reminder email includes a secure link so the student can pay online by card right away, or they can pay at their next lesson.
On the Growth and Pro plans, payment reminders can go out automatically every few days, on the schedule you choose, until the balance is paid.
Receipts and refunds
When a student pays, they get a receipt by email that they can open or download as a PDF. If you need to give money back, you can refund a card payment from inside Drivloop, in full or in part, and the refund goes back through Stripe. For cash payments you can record a cash refund.
Reports on where the money comes from
On Growth and Pro, reports show your income per week and per month, which packages sell, and how students pay. That helps when you set prices for next season or decide whether to add a car.
What it costs
Drivloop has three plans, all billed monthly: Starter $99 (up to 2 instructors), Growth $179 (up to 6 instructors) and Pro $249 (unlimited instructors). Every plan starts with a 30-day free trial. You add a card when you sign up, and nothing is charged during the trial. There are no setup fees and no contracts, and you can cancel any time from your billing page. Your students and instructors don’t pay anything to use it. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.
The only fee on a student’s card payment is Stripe’s normal processing fee. Drivloop doesn’t add anything on top.
